Get the newest version of the program. Updates are free, and your staff, modules, and training records are never touched.
From version 2.1 on, ScriptLMS installs its own updates — one click, a few seconds, nothing to upload.
Log in as an admin. When an update is ready, a green Update badge shows next to License in the sidebar — click it.
The program downloads the update from ScriptLMS.com, checks that it really came from ScriptLMS, makes a full backup, and installs it. Every update is signed by ScriptLMS, and anything else is refused.
When it's done, the page reloads showing the new version, and the green badge is gone. If anything went wrong partway through, every file is put back the way it was and nothing is changed.
Some servers and company networks don't allow outside connections. Install Now will tell you if yours doesn't — then do it this way instead. Your own computer does the downloading.
Click Download Update above and save the .zip to your computer. Don't unzip it.
On the License page, under Updates, click 📦 Install Update and choose the .zip you downloaded. It's checked, backed up, and installed exactly the same way as Install Now.
Only needed if your License page doesn't have Install Now (versions before 2.1), or if it says your server won't let the program replace its own files. If someone else manages your server, just send them the link to this page.
In your admin panel, open Backup & Restore and download a backup. The update won't touch your data, but it's always wise to have one.
Update outside training hours if you can. While files are uploading, a page may briefly show an error — that clears on its own as soon as the upload finishes.
Click Download Update above, then unzip the file on your computer.
Upload the unzipped files into the same folder ScriptLMS is installed in, using your host's File Manager or an FTP program — the same way you installed it. When asked, choose to replace / overwrite the existing files. Don't delete your current install first.
Log in as an admin and open the License page. It should show the new version number, and the green Update badge in the sidebar will be gone. From then on, Install Now handles every update for you.
Install Now and Install Update only accept updates signed by ScriptLMS, check every file, and make a full backup first. If anything goes wrong partway through, everything is put back as it was.
Version 2.1 was stress-tested with over 5,000 staff and 55,000 training assignments. Reports and other pages that work out due dates are now up to 15 times faster for large staffs, and Bulk Import shows a progress bar.
See when each person signed in and out, and how much of that time was actually spent learning. Open it from the Completion Report, choose any dates, and print it for an audit.
Learning time stops at a person's last movement when they step away. Switching to another tab, window, or program pauses their video and audio until they come back.
No problem. Every update contains the complete program, so you can go straight to the newest version from any older one — no need to install the ones in between.
Nothing stops working if you stay on the version you have. Update whenever it suits you, or whenever your IT department can get to it.
